# StockMed — Account & Data Deletion Policy

## 1. Overview & Rights Framework
Under the **Google Play User Data Policy** (Account Deletion requirement) and **Section 12 of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023**, any registered user of StockMed has the fundamental right to request the permanent deletion of their user account, credentials, and associated personal and commercial data.

## 2. In-App Deletion Mechanism (Real-Time)
Users with the StockMed mobile application installed can execute real-time, automated account deletion:
1. Open the **StockMed** app.
2. Tap the **Menu (⋮)** in the top right corner.
3. Select **Privacy Center**.
4. Scroll to **Delete Account & Personal Data (Section 12)**.
5. Tap **Delete Account** and confirm intention.
6. The account, authentication session, and all live database collections are immediately purged.

## 3. Web-Based Deletion Request (Zero-Install Requirement)
If a user has uninstalled the mobile app or cannot access their mobile device, they may initiate deletion via our public web portal:

- **Processing Timeframe:** Within **7 business days** following ownership verification.

## 4. Scope of Erasure (What is Deleted)
Upon processing an account deletion request, StockMed permanently purges:
- **Firebase Authentication Profile:** Email, phone number, password hash, and unique User ID (UID).
- **Store & Profile Records:** Medical Store / Business Name, phone numbers, physical address, landmark, PIN code, and GPS coordinates.
- **Inventory & Shortage Data:** Active shortage notes, uploaded inventory catalogs, price inquiry messages, and brand agency configurations.
- **Device & Push Tokens:** Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens, notification settings, and biometric preferences.
- **Consents & Nominees:** All recorded consent timestamps and designated DPDP legal nominees.

## 5. Statutory Retention Exceptions (What is Retained & Why)
- **GST Commercial Tax Invoices:** Under Section 36 of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, 2017, commercial trade invoices must be maintained for 72 months from the annual filing date.
- **Data Anonymization Standard:** To respect data minimization, all preserved financial transaction records are **strictly anonymized**. Personal names, phone numbers, and identifying details are permanently excised (`[REDACTED_UPON_DELETION]`), retaining solely statutory tax ledger totals.
